Christina Marsack-Topolewski is an associate professor of Social Work at Eastern Michigan University and is a national speaker, trainer, and consultant. She has over 20 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). She holds a master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan and a PhD in Social Work with a dual title in Gerontology from Wayne State University, with a background in Special Education. She has contributed significantly to the field with her 80+ publications in national and international journals and encyclopedias. Marsack-Topolewski has led numerous grant-funded programs tailored for individuals with IDD and co-occurring conditions, older adults, and those with chronic illnesses. In 2019, she was appointed to the National Task Group on Intellectual Disability and Dementia Practices, further solidifying her commitment to advocating for vulnerable adults. In 2024, she received the Ronald W. Collins Research Award for Research Excellence. She also received the Disability Advocacy Hall of Fame Award from The Arc of Oakland County in Michigan in 2024.
